Welcome!  Today’s SHEro is Tracey White, who shares how she turned her personal tragedy into triumph, how she came out of the dark and into the light, having gathered all the blessings along the way, to create a life that is full passion and joy!

Tracey is an inspirational and charismatic speaker who uses her experience to help others turn their lives around.

Join me for an inspiring conversation with Tracey!

In this episode, Tracey shares:

  • That her story begins when she was at school and was violently attacked by seven men and subsequently became pregnant.

  • How she ran away from home, being sent to boarding school, sent to live with an aunt, and being forced to give her baby up for adoption.

  • Tracey focuses on the raw emotion that forced her to grow up fast while feeling dirty, ugly, full of shame, unloved, and abandoned.

  • She turned to drugs because they were the only thing that took away the pain and then went through a marriage and a divorce.

  • Tracey knew deep inside that she would have to someday “do the work” to heal and change, but the turning point came when she finally admitted that she was ready to change and made a conscious decision to get help.

  • She began therapy and chose to get well mentally, physically, and spiritually.

  • Tracey spent over two years living in a hostel for homeless people but stayed clean from drinking and drugs.

  • Tracey’s journey took her to volunteer work with addicts and then training to become a therapist and counsellor for those battling addiction and trauma.

  • She found everything she tried in vain to find through drugs when she came clean and lived in trust, acceptance, and faith.

  • She shares how even though her gratitude may have been born out of pain and despair… the lessons and insights she has learnt along the way have been invaluable and she wouldn't swap them for anything.

  • How she is grateful for everything that has happened in my life.
