Welcome to the all-new Your SHEro’s Journey Podcast!

Over the past 12 months we’ve been inspired by over 40 SHEo’s who have shared their amazing stories with us, but now it’s time to go deeper.

My intention for the show is that you’ll learn how to connect more deeply with the rhythms of life, so that you can reclaim your power and your rightful place in the world as the wild, mysterious, and deeply connected women that you are.

Today on the show I’m joined by Tabitha Jayne, CEO of Earthself, Author and Applied Psychologist, and Ruby Toad, Ruby Toad.com and Rebel Spirit, as we tap into the Aquarius New Moon, and talk Collaboration and Quirks.

In this episode, you'll hear:

Part One – Collaboration with Tabitha Jayne

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” ~ African Proverb

Tabitha shares:

  • How when we work together we can take on bigger challenges.

  • That we can learn a lot from how nature work’s in collaboration, it is not a system of independent parts.

  • What she has learnt by looking to nature to the answers for everything.

  • What nature can teach us about tackling both local, and global issues.

  • How we can make a difference to the causes we’re passionate about and stop feeling overwhelmed.

  • How one person can make a difference.

  • Why we need to change what we focus on.

  • The importance of our putting starting with own personal creativity, health and well-being, as change only happens when we’re in a relaxed state.

  • The powerful effect of speaking your truth, even if your knees are shaking.

  • How we have come much further than most people realise, and she shares some very inspiring examples.

  • How the internet and Facebook are our allies when we curate them to support us.

  • The power of choice.

Part One – The Quirks Challenge with Ruby Toad

“Rebels don’t let rules and expectation override their intuition” ~ Ruby Toad

Ruby shares:

  • We talk about what it means to be a rebel in today’s world, and how it’s far removed from the stereotypical leather jacket and motorbike boots.

  • Why it’s essential that you embody, rather than suppress, your SHEro Rebel.

  • How suppressing this aspect of yourself can lead to anxiety, feeling low, and disconnected.

  • How important having support is as you reclaim your SHEro Rebel Spirit.

  • We share our own biggest acts of rebellion (I’m not sure if mine’s an anti-rebellion!?!).

  • What to do when you feel that friends and family undermine you when you express your truth.

  • The importance of having a sacred practice such as kinesiology, yoga, meditation, walking, to support you to have a clear, mind and heart, so you can tune into your own voice.

  • Why healthy boundaries are so important.

And of course…

We set you the SHEro challenge!

It’s a simple, but powerful one!

To join in with the challenge, come and join us in the SHEro’s Red Tent Temple FB group, and download the eGuide with additional tips, from the Enchanted Library

Welcome! My guest today is Kai Ashley, who specialises in teaching the techniques of transmuting emotions, so you can enjoy a sense of freedom in all areas of life.

During this episode, Kai gives a live demonstration that anyone can follow!

Kai is a transformational healer and mindset coach who helps women unlock their potential, release their money blocks, and take action on their dreams. She uses a powerful foundation of self-love and EFT energy work, combined with goal-getting and success strategies that make the seemingly impossible become the possible. Her mission is to help millions overcome their fear and doubt, to realize how powerful they are, and to free themselves and radically change society—one person at a time.

Join us for some actionable inspiration from Kai!

In this episode, you'll hear:

  • Kai defines and explains Emotional Alchemy—rather than ignoring negative emotions, you face them head-on and use the sensation of love to transmute them into a higher energy. It’s turning the heavy and dark emotions into love and light.

  • “Negative emotions lead to panic attacks and can ruin your life!”

  • Kai’s interest in emotional alchemy stemmed from her nervous breakdown in her mid-20’s. She describes herself as the survivor of a tough childhood and an extremist, always pushing the limits.

  • As she looked for ways to heal, she found EFT (emotional freedom technique), which uses the points of acupuncture and tapping fingers to speak truth and release negative energy from the nervous system.

  • Kai says that “self-love” is alien for most people, because most people can’t say that they even love themselves.

  • Kai explains the “Golden Ticket Lifetime,” the time in which we live, where we can use enchanted tools to stop the patterns of negative behaviours and emotions.

  • Kai has used tapping in her life to recover from social anxiety, PTSD, reactive emotions, and physical ailments.

  • Kai explains how breathing is an important technique and correlates to Chinese medicine, in which the lungs are associated with grief.

  • “Binge tapping”—it works! It’s what gave Kai freedom from negative emotions and helped her step out, be herself, and be proud!

  • Kai uses tapping as needed in everyday life, whether in large or small chunks.

  • Kai demonstrates the process of thought, breathing, and relaxation to relieve stress. You can follow along and give it a try!

  • Kai has used her techniques to help money issues, heal hurts, build confidence, improve relationships, and take more actions and opportunities.

  • Breathing, deeply and often, is the key to emotional alchemy!

  • Kai explains how the mind-body connection manifests itself in poor posture, which results from negative and self-defeating thoughts.

  • Mind-body work often incorporates the body’s responses, including tears, laughter, burping, yawning, sneezing, and coughing.

Top 3 Tips To From Kai:

  1. Use pen/paper along with tapping to write down negative thoughts.

  2. Use Kai’s “breathing game” to increase deep breaths.

  3. Realize that your mind is NOT you; talk back to those negative thoughts.

  • Occasionally, Karina encounters clients who think they are ready to channel, but really aren’t ready to let go and make space for the energy of Spirit guides.

  • Hearing, seeing, and integration are parts of the process of channelling Spirit guides.

  • To start, you must “play” with the channelling and find time and space to tune into your body.

  • Being out in nature will allow you to feel a greater connection.

  • It’s important to ASK the Spirit guide to come into our lives, and it usually begins in subtle ways.

Top 3 Tips To Connect with Your Spirit Guides:

  1. Start drawing, writing, painting, or dancing and ask your Spirit guide to stand beside you.

  2. While meditating, ask Spirit guides to come, and then notice what you feel.

  3. Go to your favourite nature spot and invite the Spirit guide to join you.

Soon a wide range of dependency based needs came forward, and Lysa felt to use the same skills and steps to support women out of depending on alcohol, marajuana, over-spending and casual one night stands to see that the feeling we can't feel will compel our shadow behaviours.

Healing is a process of reclaiming our truth, a process which returns us home to our purpose, power and peace.

  • How Carol used healthy foods and solid nutrition to help boost her husband’s health during his cancer treatment

  • How Carol, during another “Aha” moment, realised that she had to look after herself before she could look after her sick husband and two sons

  • How Carol practices self-care by walking daily and preparing the healthy foods she wants to eat, even if they may not be what her sons would prefer

  • Another “Aha” moment involved Carol’s writing a book to raise money for a children’s charity

  • Handling “Aha” moments means you have to be open to them and TAKE ACTION

  • Carol’s biggest success are her books and the fact that she’s still inspired and trying to make a difference

Biggest Learning:

**Please be advised that this interview contains topics that may cause some people distress.

Welcome!  Today’s SHEro Tabitha Jayne (Tabi), who shares how she went from a troubled young person to a published author, international speaker, eco-psychologist, and natural growth consultant.

She helps people create meaningful and purposeful, stress-free lives and businesses with the help of nature. She is the creator of The Nature Process and Tree of Transformation.

Join me for an inspiring conversation with Tabi!

Tabi’s life turned around when she was 22 and her younger brother, age 17, was killed in a car accident.

Until that point, she used drugs and alcohol to mask the pain of a troubled childhood that included being bullied at school and a rape incident at age 16.  It was the loss of her brother that motivated her to stop 'wasting her life' and to begin pursuing her dreams.

In this episode, Tabi discusses:

  • Tabi realised that our society does not deal with death well. She had to find ways to work through her grief, which led her to rediscover nature that she had loved as a child.

  • She noticed that when she spent more time outside that she felt better.

  • She found trees to have a magical quality and shares the inspirational story of climbing a tree that brought her back into fellowship and harmony with nature.

  • Tabi found a way to merge her two loves of nature and psychology to become an “eco-psychologist.” She learned how to use coaching to articulate and teach others.

  • Tabi shares how her journey of the last five years has involved connecting with others through the power of nature. “The future belongs to those who are nature-smart.”—Richard Louv

  • Tabi addresses the dilemma of how modern society can balance technology and nature.

  • Everything in nature has a path of growth and renewal just like we, as humans, need growth and renewal.

  • Tabi uses the reality of light and dark in nature as metaphors for the stages and steps in our lives.

  • Tabi’s greatest success has been the development of The Nature Process, which is a 5-step online program and now, a book.

  • Proceeds from her program have raised huge funds for Tree Sisters, which supports feminine leadership and reforestation.

  • “When I struggle to have faith, I go to nature. When I couldn’t believe in myself, I could believe in nature.”

Biggest Learning:

'Confidence within myself and trust.'

To realise how valuable she is and how valuable her knowledge is to the world.

Because of her interests, Tabi was so used to perceiving herself as weird one in her family that she didn’t want to share her gifts with the world.

It was the most humbling experience of her life to share her knowledge of nature with others and see their transformation.

Welcome!  Today’s SHEro is Heather Ash, who chose to go against the norm and listen to her inner voice regarding having a home birth, which was not a common thing to do in her area.  In fact, in her home state of Georgia, it’s not even legal for midwives to attend home births.

Heather, however, followed her heart.

She says the best thing about her life is being a mum to her two daughters, ages 3 and 7.  Heather encourages other mums through her blog and podcast, Happiness Mama, and works in her own coaching business.

Join me for an inspiring conversation with Heather!

Heather shares how she assumed a hospital birth would be sufficient until she read a book about midwives and doulas, and her mind was changed.  Home births were not common where she lived, and her doctor actually dropped her and other home birth patients as a result of pressure from the medical community.  She chose another Ob-Gyn but never disclosed her desire to have a home birth!

In this episode, Heather discusses:

  • How Heather’s home birth turned out, even though the midwife arrived only a few minutes before the baby!

  • How Heather battled post-partum depression and anxiety but didn’t even realize it until much later.

  • How breastfeeding issues presented a huge challenge that took determination and perseverance to overcome.

  • How Heather was able to spend time at home with both of her daughters after they were born before she had to return to work.

  • How Heather has used her blog to encourage other mums to live their happiest lives.

  • How Heather’s biggest success is to “be here” for her children and spend time with them.

  • How she has grown stronger through her experiences, and she desires to coach other women through their own challenging life experiences.

Biggest Learning:

"I realised how strong I am, and how strong women are"

Favourite Quote:

About Heather:

Heather is a passionate mama of two young daughters, ages 7 and 3, who believes that being a mother is the best thing in the world. For over eight years she taught high school ESL, but these days she enjoys encouraging other moms through her blog, HappinessMama, and working on her new coaching business and podcast.

She also loves to drink good coffee, take long walks, listen to podcasts, play with art supplies, and read good books. Outlander is her favorite book series by far, but she also enjoys reading all sorts of books, including personal growth, business, and parenting books.

As a coach and blogger at HappinessMama, she loves helping other mamas live their happiest lives and achieve their creative dreams and goals. A recent graduate of Mama Bliss Coaching School, she is happily creating a coaching business and also starting a podcast, which will launch in September.

In this episode, Sandra discusses:

  • How a “spirit” in the basement of her wedding dress shop piqued her curiosity about the energy existing within a space.

Welcome! My guest today is Jo De Rosa. Jo shares how she battled addiction for decades until yoga and meditation literally saved her life.

She has recently celebrated 1000 days of sobriety!

She has lived in Thailand and the UK, running a clothing and jewellery shop, a yoga studio, and a retreat centre. Her business, Inner Guidance, offers coaching, workshops, and retreats focusing on emotional and spiritual healing, nutrition, and visioning for the future.

Join me for an inspiring conversation with Jo!

Jo candidly shares about the excesses of her adult life, until yoga and meditation showed her a better path. Even in the midst of the addiction pattern, she felt a calling to search for something else for her life. When she attended her first yoga class, it was an “epiphany” moment—exactly what she was searching for to change her life forever!

In this episode, Jo discusses:

  • How yoga eventually led to soul-satisfying meditation in her life, and how you can start small and incorporate this practice into your life

  • How she overcame the power struggle between the “old Jo” and the “new Jo” she wanted to become

  • How family and friends responded to the extreme changes she made in her life—some were supportive and some were not

  • Jo keeps the faith in herself by acknowledging that her inner peace comes from her meditation

  • Hear the miraculous story of how Jo and her husband came to own a 16th-century property that has become the Inner Guidance Retreat Centre

  • How Jo does NOT regret any of her life experiences: “I had to go through what I did to be where I am right now!”

Biggest Learning:

Trust.
Trusting herself, trusting the process. Trusting that everything is happening for a reason. It has to happen this way for you to be your full potential, so that you can shine in the world.

Say YES and mean it.

Do things because you say 'YES' to them, not because you 'should' do them.

Favourite Quote:

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

Theme Song:

Brainwave Music System- Dr Jeffrey Thompson

SuperShero Name:

The Quantum Mind-Setter

About Jo:

Jo offers coaching, workshops and retreats where students can fully immerse themselves into their practice, and most importantly, learn how to take the information home with them and integrate it into their daily lives.

Yoga is a complete lifestyle and Jo teaches not only the physical postures, but also nutrition, visioning for the future and meditation. This enables you to feel balanced mentally and emotionally, as well as physically.

Jo teaches yoga in the Iyengar style and spent one year in training with her first teacher Suzie in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Jo has spent much time in India and completed the Sivananda one month intensive training in Neyyer Dam, Trivandrum. Here she stayed in the ashram for one month living and breathing yoga before heading from the southern tip of India to the Himalayas where she met and studied with Sharat Arora.

It was at this time that Jo also became involved with the Tibetan Buddhist movement in Dharamsala.

In 2006 Jo took refuge with HH Karmapa which is a great honour, and was given the Tibetan name ‘Karma Choekyi’, which means ‘happy teacher’.

The Karmapa is head of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, and although this is a different lineage to HH Dalai Lama, it is now public knowledge that HH Karmapa will succeed HH Dalai Lama as leader of Tibet.
